A Long Overdue Update !!!

Its Wednesday my dudes (ughhhhhh)!!!
For anyone who didn't understand the statement above, its a vine, please get on board.
Again it has been a super long time since I've updated BC in BC (double sorry mom) but thats only because I have been busy with lots of wild activities! The last time I wrote a post about my personal life, I had watched a few documentaries, went to a dance show, went to a multitude of garage sales and had a BBQ. Although since then I have watched a few more documentaries and have had several other BBQs, I have had some new experiences!
Last Tuesday (the 29th of May), Heather one of my Loran supervisors came to visit my office. We chatted a lot about my summer, Vancouver and my roommate! I pried about which incoming scholars are going where, and she told me that at that time two were coming to McGill. I cant wait to see who ends up at McGill, one because its a groovy school in a beautiful city, and two because free friends!!
On Wednesday (the 30th of May) so many cool and fun things happened! First I had the opportunity to go to the "Lunch and LNG Demonstration" put on by the Richmond Chamber of Commerce at the Mayfair Lakes Golf and Country Club. We watched a live LNG demonstration where FortisBC showed the audience what LNG looks like and how it interacts with water, air and dirt. They even used the LNG to freeze up freezies for the audience! After the demonstration, which was extremely informative, we went inside for a lunch and keynote speech by none other than my boss David. He gave a 20 minute presentation on LNG and what it means for BC. His presentation was followed by a panel interview which he and other LNG proponents were members of. Following my LNG learning day, the lovely Kt was here in Van so we went for a walk around the city and got delicious rice bowls. We then wandered back to my place where we hung out with Lily and Gracie until Kt had to fly back to Victoria.
Over the weekend, my oldest and greatest friend from home Matt was here! His aunt got married over the week, and luckily he stuck around for a few days. On the Friday, Matt, his mom, his grandma and I went our for bubble tea (which I had never had before) and then headed over to his uncles house where I met his uncle and cousins. Later that night we went to a brewery for dinner and Matt even pulled out his dad app and rated the craft beers. Saturday morning, at 7:45am (yuck) I was picked up by Matt, his cousin, and uncle and we ventured to Squamish! We had decided to venture to Squamish, which is about an hour north of Vancouver, to hike Stawamus Chief, a very difficult, yet beautiful climb! The climb up took us about an hour and a half and required the use of 2 steel ladders, 3 sets of chains (to pull yourself up the side of a cliff) and several steep rocky inclines. Although the climb itself was pretty difficult, the views from the top were unbelievable. We were above the clouds at some points and at the top we had a perfect view of Squamish! On the descend down the mountain, Matt and I stopped off at a waterfall where we dunked our heads, later to find out that it was a drinking source! After the climb we went to another brewery, where again Matt pulled out his dad app (when he does I pretend that I don't know him). Later that night I went back to Matt's uncle's house where we had a BBQ and cake! It was really amazing to get to hangout Matt and meet some of his family from BC! He left for the airport around 8pm, and I went home where Gracie and I had another BBQ with some pals.
This week already has been a blast! Last night Gracie and I received our four foster kittens that we applied for a few weeks ago! We got four little boys named George Michael, Lana Del Rey (we get very feminine vibes from Lana), Balthazar and Flaming Hot Cheeto (more commonly known as FLHC, pronounced flick). They are the sweetest little kittens ever, but they are extremely rambunctious! We spent all night with them yesterday, and will most likely never leave their room!
In the following days I plan on FaceTiming with some friends, spending lots of time with my boys, and relaxing before the big weekend! This weekend I am heading down to Victoria to visit Katie! Although I am not quite sure what we will get up to, she has a Victoria book that we plan on cracking open!
On the work front, although very confidential, everything has been super interesting and fun. I am currently writing and researching for a couple policy papers that will hopefully appear on the BC LNG Alliance website and be sent to the provincial government!
All in all since I last updated BC in BC I have been one busy dude! I will try to write more frequently, but now that we have four little men in our house I might be a bit distracted!
A newfound crazy-cat lady,
BC

p.s.
For all you 18+ Ontario lads remember that tomorrow is the Provincial Election! I was able to do a write in vote from BC and boy am I glad that I had the chance to! Make sure to make your vote count and have your voice heard!
