What is BC in BC?

My name is Blair Crawford (BC) and I just finished my first year of university at McGill in Montreal! I was given the opportunity to attend this amazing school by the Loran Scholars Foundation, who each year supports around 30 youth across Canada. Alongside the ability to attend a wonderful Canadian university, the Loran Scholars Foundation offers a summer internship program! Every current Loran scholar has the opportunity to work anywhere in the world, in public policy, community development or enterprise.

That is where BC (the province) comes in! I was presented with the amazing chance to work with a company in Vancouver called BC LNG Alliance. With this organization, I will be completing my public policy summer. As BC LNG Alliance is an important company, a majority of the work that I will be doing with them is confidential. Although I cannot speak much on the logistics of my work, I hope to share as many of my experiences as I can.

Please take the time to look into the Loran Scholars Foundation and BC LNG Alliance, as without them I would not be in Vancouver this summer (for you non-tech-savvy folks just click on the titles of the company above, they are linked to the organizations website).

As many of us are away from home, friends and family, Loran encourages us to find a way to share our experiences (hence BC in BC), I hope that anyone who stumbles upon this blog is able to experience a piece of Vancouver and BC through my time spent here!

A nervous first time blogger,

BC (the person not the province)
